BC FARRIER SERVICE

The Full Story

BC Farrier Service is owned by Ben Callis and located in Brownsburg, IN on the West Side of Indianapolis.  Ben grew up in Brownsburg and graduated from Brownsburg High School ( where he met his wife ). He took riding lessons when he was younger which laid the foundation of his career as a farrier later in life.

After high school he joined the US Army. He deployed in support of operation Iraqi freedom in 2005 and returned to his station at Fort Carson, Colorado.  After the service, Ben started a tract of traditional secondary education, and in 2013 graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering.  It was during this time that he started riding horses again and after a suggestion of the instructor, he attended the Pikes Peak Community College Farrier Science program in the evenings after his formal classes in engineering.  He excelled in the class and earned an apprenticeship with the instructor, Jim Becka, CFP (Certified Farrier Practioner).  After a year and half apprenticeship under Jim and attending events taught by world renowned E.L.P.O farriers he started his own business.

Ben moved back to Indiana, where the Lord blessed his wife and him with 3 daughters.
